“Easy Express” Flaxseed Gel Results
Jul 29

Just wanted to post the results of the flaxseed gel I made using the microwave method. Here is how my hair turned out:

The hold is firm but not crunchy (after fluffing) and the definition is excellent. From what I previously read, flaxseed gel has a soft hold which is why I decided to add honey to my recipe. I have been using gel lately due to the heat and high humidity. I used my crisco curling cream underneath as a leave-in. I am extremely pleased with the results. Even though the consistency made it a little difficult to apply initially (it was a bit messy), I quickly got the hang of it. I was also surprised by the excellent slip the gel had. I would dare say that it could be used to detangle the hair (I would omit the honey if I intended to use it for that purpose). The end result overall reminds me of pink EcoStyler gel w/slightly better definition.

For my next batch of gel, I will probably add more seeds to make it a little thicker. I think this gel is excellent and far exceeds the pectin hair gel I have made in the past. This is definitely something I will continue to make and use in the future.
